Every day I hear from my patients, “Doc, what’s the difference between a soft and medium toothbrush?” or “Should I floss before or after I brush?” But my favorite question, “Is there a difference between an electric and manual toothbrush?” I realized that all the answers to these questions seemed obvious to me but not every one thinks about teeth every day like me…
I created this blog/website to address the most common questions you (as a non dentist) may have about your oral health! Every week, I will dive into the questions above and so much more. From the best toothpaste to the best option for missing teeth and everything in between! I will also discuss why your oral health is so important to your overall health. For example, did you know that there is a connection between your gum health and pneumonia? Or that there are correlations between your oral health and diabetes, heart disease, and many others? Maybe you have the perfect pair of pearly whites, or want to know how to get those set of chompers perfect for your upcoming wedding or big event! Or are you missing a tooth or know a loved one or friend with missing several teeth? I invite you to follow me along on this blog so I can help you and your loved ones live happier and healthier lives with the biggest and proudest of smiles : )
So why trust me? Glad you asked…I mean who takes advice from random people on the internet right!? I’m a licensed and practicing dentist in New Jersey. I graduated from Colgate University (no, not the tooth paste haha) with a molecular biology degree. I then went to Rutgers University, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences to pursue my masters in biomedical sciences. By taking further courses in post graduate classes in biomedical sciences, I gained a very strong foundation going into dental school. I completed my DDS (or Doctor of Dental Surgery) at New York University. I wish I could say this is where I stopped but as a self proclaimed nerd I then enrolled in an MBA program at Rutgers. I also completed a fellowship training in implants with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry at Englewood Hospital and St. Barnabas Hospital in New York City. Wooofff! That took me way long to write and made me realize how much of a nerd I really am…
Finally, I encourage you to sign up on our mailing list so you get the first “bite” every week (see what I did there!)
